Microbes
Each commercialised plant was once an un-domesticated species living in an ecosystem suitable for its survival. These ecosystems ranged from deserts and swamps to temperate and old growth forests. Each of these environments have specific microbial ecosystems that cycled nutrients way before fertilisers were even invented. Matching your soil’s micro-ecosystem to that of the plant you wish to cultivate is crucial for supporting the health and resilience of your plants.

These microbes have evolved with plants since they have been in existence. Let the ones who know them best look after them for you.

Our Microbiology Report gives you a comprehensive understanding of the microbial ecosystem currently living in your soil and provides recommendations for aligning them with your particular plant's or crop's needs. We also have products available that will introduce microbes into your soil if they're missing.
Minerals
Being well-fed and well-nourished leads to health. From the smallest cell to the largest tree, all living things have a genetic potential that is limited when something is missing or out of balance. As a doctor prescribes supplements based on a blood test, Respire Soil Sciences' mineral recommendations are prescribed based on your individual soil chemistry test results. As deficiencies and imbalances are corrected in your soil, your plants can communicate with the microbial ecosystem to select and collect the nutrients they need to optimise their growth. Insect pests and pathogens are attracted to plants with incomplete nutrition. Balancing your soil will lead to higher yields and pest pressure drops away.
Meet Dr William albrecht (1988-1974)
Dr William Albrecht was a soil scientist who saw the link between soil health and animal health. He noticed particular towns had higher rates of men drafted in to WWII due to having better health. As this was prior to the chemical-industrial farming revolution and the ultra-processed food industry, Dr Albrecht studied the nutrient levels in the soil growing the food in each town. His research found tiny fragments in soil called colloidal clay particles which held positively charged ions. These positive ions are held onto the soil colloid by a simple static electrical charge, safe from being washed away. Dr Albrecht experimented with different ratios of nutrients and measured plant and animal health as a result.

Respire Soil Sciences uses this time-tested method of soil balancing to establish mineral balance in your soil. Your plants know what nutrients they need for optimal health. When nutrients are available in a balanced form, their roots will absorb the minerals they need via selective ion uptake and by forming symbiotic relationships with microbes.
